The history of the Clos de la Brenne goes up at the end of the 18th century. At the origin, a house of 30m² having a stage and micaceous chalk stone walls of more than 50cm thickness. This family house was largely increased at the end of the Second World War in order to build a joinery. The workshop which had ceased recently its activities was repurchased in June 2004 by two childhood friends living around the area and wishing to renovate the masonry in the respect of its history. After 5 years of hard labors and thanks to the active participation of their families and friends, beautiful cottage respectful with the regional architectural standards came out. The restoration is fully faithful to the spirit of the old residence. It joins history and respect of work of yesteryear with modern comfort. |
